he Credits Department is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Coordinator of Television & New Media Credits. This position is a full time, exempt (salaried) position with full benefits and the annualized salary begins at $49,927, commensurate with experience.&nbspThis position is in the bargaining unit represented by the Guild Staff Union. 
 
Under the general supervision of the Senior Director of Credits & Creative Rights and the Administrator of Television & New Media Credits, the Coordinator of Television & New Media Credits provides professional support to the Credits Department. The Credits Department is responsible for determining writing credits in accordance with the MBA, maintaining accurate records of such credits and enforcing the credits provisions of the MBA to ensure that credits are displayed accurately in all media.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
 
1)                  Administers and enforces television and new media credit procedures and provisions.
2)                  Administers a heavy volume of credit arbitrations.
3)                  Uses legal and analytical skills in investigating contractual issues relating to credits provisions and procedures.
4)                  Participates in and arranges for Pre-Arbitration Hearings and Policy Review Boards, including drafting of decision letters.
5)                  Investigates contractual issues relating to the television and new media credits provisions and procedures confers with other staff to respond to television and new media inquiries and resolve disputes.
6)                  Handles closing of series files, including obtaining outstanding NTWCs.
7)                  Assists in the supervision of the Television & New Media Credits Assistant.
8)                  Handles all requests for television and new Media credits waivers, including preparing and sending out correspondence regarding such waiver requests.
9)                  Recruits arbiters and consultants for arbitrations on an as-needed basis.
10)              Handles heavy telephone volume as well as sensitive and confidential matters.
11)              Responds to phone inquiries concerning procedural issues regarding credit requirements and credit determinations.
12)              Confers with other staff to respond to inquiries and resolve disputes.
13)              Prepares drafts of routine correspondence and requests for information.
14)              Drafts case referrals to the Legal Department when unable to resolve claims in Credits.
15)              Performs other duties as required.
 
 
OCCUPATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
 
1)         A college degree or equivalent experience. Law degree a plus.
2)         Must have excellent analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
3)         Must have good oral and written communication skills.
4)         Be computer literate in MS Word and Excel for Windows (preferably in Office 2007).
5)         Have a pleasant telephone manner have strong time management skills and the ability to handle sensitive and complex matters under extreme time constraints.
6)         Must be able to handle adverse situations with diplomacy and authority.
7)         Industry experience preferred.
