Position Title: Accounting Manager, Fixed Assets
Regency Energy Partners, a midstream natural gas company, seeks an experienced Accounting Manager-Fixed Assets for our Corporate Headquarters in Dallas Texas. Responsible for review and control of all aspects of fixed assets. Maintain integrity of general ledger system by ensuring the proper depreciation and capitalization of assets in a timely manner.
- Supervise a staff of 2 direct reports. Provide hands on supervision of work to ensure deadlines are met. Assist staff in defining priorities. Provide constructive criticism and training as warranted.
- Seek and implement processes to improve the efficiency of the work flow.
- Work closely with budgeting, financial reporting, operations and outside auditors to ensure fixed asset information is provided in a timely, accurate manner.
- Review and approve monthly depreciation and amortization entries.
- Review and approve Authorizations for Expenditure (AFE) by validating that the project should be treated as a capital expenditure.
- Support the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts by projecting depreciation and certain O&M expenses.
- Monitor and review Construction in Process (CIP) for impairment and work closely with field personnel to ensure timely in service dates with proper useful lives and asset classifications.
- Perform special projects as needed (formal fixed asset policy, replacement of current software, etc.).
Required Skills/Experience
- Strong fixed asset background with management skills. Background in midstream sector of natural gas industry would be a plus.
- Computer and analytical skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet all deadlines, accuracy.5 Years experience in industry, 5 years experience in accounting, 2 years in supervisory or management position.
- Bachelor of Science in Accounting, CPA desirable but not required.
